Quratulain joined the civil litigation team at Mergul Law in 2014. She is responsible for
progressing personal injury claims from the initial pre-issue stage including taking instructions,
CFA implementation, gathering evidence and special damages scheduling through to settlement.

Road Traffic Accidents

Quratulain specialises in all aspects of road traffic accident claims. Her expertise includes
dealing with low-value claims processed via the Ministry of Justice’s Claims Portal as well as
claims involving uninsured drivers or untraced drivers. Quratulain also has expertise in dealing
with accidents involving UK citizens who are the victims of accidents involving foreign registered
vehicles either in the UK or abroad. In addition to obtaining compensation for personal injury
arising out of road traffic accidents, Quratulain has also helped her clients successfully recover
past and future loss of earnings, costs associated with vehicle repairs, hire and storage, and
rehabilitation treatment.

Employer’s Liability Claims

Quratulain also specialises in accident at work claims and claims for injuries suffered due to poor working conditions. She has expertise in dealing with claims involving manual handling injuries, slips and trips at work, injuries from defective machinery or equipment, injuries from lifting heavy loads and injuries suffered to due inadequate personal protective equipment. In addition to obtaining compensation for personal injury arising out of accidents at work, Quratulain has also helped her clients successfully recover medical costs associated with the injury, out of pocket expenses, care expenses and loss of earnings.

Public Liability Claims

Quratulain also specialises in public liability claims involving injuries suffered in public places and accidents on public property owing to the negligence of a business or local authority. Her
expertise includes dealing with claims involving dangerous pathways, slips and trips, contact
injuries from hazardous materials, broken/slippery steps, wet surfaces and poorly maintained

Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) Claims

Quratulain also deals with claims involving individuals who have suffered physical or
psychological injuries as a result of a violent crime and submitting applications on their behalf to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. The CICA is a government scheme which offers
compensation to victims of violent crime in England, Scotland and Wales. Quratulain has helped
many clients successfully recover compensation from the CICA for physical and mental injuries,
as well as cost of remedial treatment and care.

Other Experience

Before pursuing a career in law, Quratulain graduated from University of London with an LLB.
Honours in 2012 and completed her LL.M at BPP University in 2014. She is also currently
pursuing her PhD in Criminal Law and Psychology at the University of Sussex.

Quratulain is fluent in four languages: English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
